Dr. Braam Swanepoel is an experienced General Practitioner with more than 40 years of clinical practice across South Africa, Ireland, and Canada. Throughout his career he has provided comprehensive medical care in family practice, hospital settings, and emergency medicine, developing a strong reputation for compassionate, patient-centered care.

He obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from the University of Pretoria, South Africa, and later completed a Master of Pharmacy in Medicine (MPharmMed) in Clinical Pharmacology, strengthening his expertise in pharmacology and evidence-based treatment. He also holds the Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada (LMCC) and has practiced as a licensed Family Physician in Canada.

Dr. Swanepoel offers a broad range of services in general and family medicine, including chronic disease management, preventative healthcare, and minor medical procedures. He has extensive experience managing conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and other chronic medical illnesses, while also focusing on preventative care and long-term health maintenance.

In addition to traditional family medicine, Dr. Swanepoel has developed professional interests in medical weight management and aesthetic medicine. He has completed advanced training and certification in Botox and dermal filler treatments, with aesthetic medical training undertaken in both the United States and Canada. He continues to participate in professional development in non-surgical aesthetic procedures, metabolic health, and medical weight management to ensure patients receive safe, modern, and evidence-based treatments.

Dr. Swanepoel also has experience in telemedicine and virtual care, providing consultations through modern digital healthcare platforms, allowing patients to access professional medical advice and follow-up care conveniently and efficiently.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Swanepoel enjoys an active lifestyle and values time with family. He is married to his wife Hannelie, and they have two sons and three grandchildren. His hobbies include water skiing, snow skiing and other snow sports, hiking and spending time in nature, golf, photography, and travel. He also has a keen interest in digital photography editing using Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.
